This lovely home was built in 1923 and was thoroughly renovated by us and fitted with all modern comforts and conveniences in 2020. The property still showcases all of the characteristic 1920s architectural details. The fabulously deep backyard has excellent sun exposure and offers optimum privacy and two sheds. The house has three spacious bedrooms, an extra study and a lovely garden.
Below we outline our renovation results.
General:
The entire house features smooth plaster walls and oak flooring. All windows have double glazing and the roof has been insulated from the inside. The energy label has been updated following the renovations.
Layout:
Entrance, central hall with a restroom, meter cupboard, stairs and a door to the living room. Fabulously bright living room with a bay. At the front, mantel with a gas fireplace and pocket doors with stained glass.
Semi-open plan kitchen in an L-shaped layout with fitted appliances and a back door to the deep backyard.
First floor:
Wooden stairs to the first floor. Landing with panel doors to three rooms and the bathroom. Large bedroom at the rear with French doors to the balcony, second spacious bedroom at the front. Third, compact, bedroom; ideal as a home office or dressing room. At the rear of the house, a fully-equipped bathroom with underfloor heating and fitted with a shower, toilet, bathtub and vanity.
Second floor:
Open carpeted staircase to the second floor. Landing with the laundry station and central heating unit. Lovely L-shaped bedroom with a dormer and a roof window.
Garden:
Neatly landscaped front garden with a wide gravel path that passes alongside the house to the expansive backyard. The backyard has excellent sun exposure and includes a large terrace and neatly landscaped flowerbeds. Tall hedges ensure optimum privacy! Next to the house is a bicycle shed with roof tiles and there is a large shed at the back. of the yard, which is a perfect workshop space.
