What are cookies?

A cookie is a simple small text file that a website places on the hard drive of your computer when you visit the website. Cookies are sent with the pages of the CBS website. The information stored therein can be sent back to the servers on a subsequent visit to the website. This allows the website to recognize you on a subsequent visit. The main function of cookies is to distinguish one user from another. You can refuse the use of these cookies at any time, although this may limit the functionality and ease of use of the website.

Functional cookies

CBS uses functional cookies. These are cookies that the website installs itself. Functional cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. These cookies are placed by default and are not deleted if you do not accept the cookies. Functional cookies do not store any personal data and do not contain any data that can be used to trace you. This is often applied at Google. This information is anonymized as much as possible. Your IP address will not be passed on to Google. Furthermore, CBS does not share data with Google and Google is therefore not allowed to use the data for its own purposes.

Analytical cookies

CBS uses analytical cookies to track user behavior and general trends and to obtain reports. Analytical cookies are used to process personal data of website visitors. Analytical cookies enable CBS to measure the website visits. These statistics ensure that we gain insight into how often the website is used, what information visitors are looking for and which pages on the website are viewed the most. This way we know which parts of the website are popular and where the website can be improved. The traffic on the website is analyzed to improve the website and to make the experience for visitors as pleasant as possible. The statistics that are collected cannot be traced back to individuals and are anonymized as much as possible. CBS uses Google Analytics, and this is done in a privacy-friendly way. CBS has concluded a processing agreement with Google, disabled the options for sharing data with Google and no use is made of the user IDs function. As mentioned, the IP addresses are anonymized. Google can provide the above information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so, or insofar as third parties process the information on behalf of Google. CBS has no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the information obtained for other Google services.

Tracking cookies

CBS does not use tracking cookies or other cookies where personal data of the website visitor is processed. CBS does not use cookies to enable social media integration. The website does contain links to the social networks Facebook and Twitter, but no personal data is processed.

Removal of cookies

If you do not want CBS to store cookies via the website, you can disable the acceptance of cookies in your browser settings. This ensures that cookies are no longer stored. However, without cookies, some functions of the website may work less well or not at all. Since cookies are stored on your own computer, you can only delete them yourself.
