CBS Renovation Β· contractor in Weesp and het Gooi
House renovation, extensions and remodelling in Weesp and along the Vecht β survey, quotation and handover through one contact person.
CBS Renovation is a building and renovation contractor for home owners and business clients in Weesp. Our work covers house renovation, remodelling and extensions, as well as new build and commercial projects.
Weesp has been part of the municipality of Amsterdam since 2022. It is an old fortified town on the river Vecht with a historic centre, and the housing gets younger towards the edges of town, up to the new build in the Bloemendalerpolder. An old building in the centre calls for different work from a recent house, so every job starts with a survey on site. After that you receive a quotation that lists each element separately.
Demolition, structure, installations and finishing are handled as a single job. You deal with one person throughout, and we plan who does what and when. The Dutch terms you are likely to meet are few: the aannemer (main contractor), the opname (survey) and, for an extension, the omgevingsvergunning (permit). Outdoor space can be part of the job as well: in a city garden in Amsterdam we built a timber terrace and a shed, fitted a skylight, laid terrace tiles and installed lighting.

Each service below is carried out within one contract. This is what the work involves in practice.
A house renovation starts with stripping out: old finishes, pipes and wiring come out, so it becomes clear what state the structure is in. Then come the new layout, electrics, water and drainage, plastering and the finishing. That is how we fully renovated a 1914 house on Meentweg in Bussum, together with a design studio: new electrics and lighting, water supply and drainage, underfloor heating, extract ventilation, and plastering and painting throughout. Renovating just the ground floor or a single storey also runs through one contact person.

A rear extension adds space to the ground floor. We handle the design, the architectural drawings and the structural calculation; then come the foundations, the shell and the window frames, and finally heating and electrics are extended into the new space. For Meentweg 62 in Bussum we drew up the plans and calculations, applied for the building permit and built the two-storey extension. On Eikbosserweg in Hilversum the living room was extended at the rear, with two sets of French doors to the garden.

A loft often lacks headroom and daylight. A dormer solves both, especially when the roof is insulated in the same job, and the result is an extra bedroom or study. A roof renovation adds new tiles and a new rainwater system. Meentweg 62 in Bussum had both: new dormers, a separately insulated roof with new tiles, and a zinc rainwater system.
We renovate a bathroom as a project of its own or as part of a larger remodel. The old room is stripped, pipework and drainage are moved, extract ventilation goes in, and then come the tiling and the sanitary ware. For the 1905 house in Bussum we redesigned the bathroom around a laundry area, a separate bath and a shower. A kitchen follows the same order: pipes, floor and walls first, then the fitting. The renovation on Diependaalselaan in Hilversum included a new open-plan kitchen.
Underfloor heating needs a well-insulated base. In an older house we therefore start beneath the floor, with the crawl space and the floor insulation, and then lay the pipes, the controls and the new floor in PVC, timber or tiles. In the 1905 house in Bussum the crawl space was insulated with 60 mm of PIR, and underfloor heating now warms the ground and first floors. The house on Neuweg in Hilversum has underfloor heating throughout, under PVC floors.
More about underfloor heating
We make a house more sustainable in a fixed order: insulate the shell first, then match the ventilation and heating to it. The 1905 house in Bussum moved from energy label G to A+++ this way. We insulated the roof, facade and crawl space with PIR, fitted HR++ glazing and installed solar panels and a heat pump. The consumer unit, water supply and mechanical ventilation fall under the same contract, so there is no separate installer to find.

Woodwork shapes much of how a house looks, especially an old one. At Meentweg 62 in Bussum all window frames and external doors are new and made of timber, and we fitted and painted the skirtings, architraves, window sills and internal doors. In the 1914 house on Meentweg we made a built-in cupboard in the living room and timber benches with storage around the kitchen. On Eikbosserweg in Hilversum we installed a new staircase.

I can highly recommend CBS for their hard and diligent work and their extensive listening to exactly understand our wishes. CBS performed a full renovation of our 1930' house in Heemstede after we bought it. We still enjoy every day we live there. Outstanding points: preciseness, hard work, timing, communication. Attention point: cost control.Posted on Google![]()

We engaged this company to replace the gutters on our homes after they collapsed under the heavy snowfall this winter. The work was completed exactly as quoted, delivered on time, and carried out to a very high professional standard. Communication with the Project Manager was clear and responsive throughout, and the entire process was handled with transparency from start to finish. Based on our experience, we would be happy to recommend their services.Posted on Google![]()

I canβt recommend CBS highly enough. They completed a full renovation of our main living area and kitchen, along with several smaller projects throughout our home, and the results exceeded our expectations. From the start, they brought professionalism, dedication, and a consistently positive attitude. They put a lot of effort into accomplishing what we wanted while staying within our budget. They worked long days, remained open to feedback, and were always willing to collaborate on questions and small adjustments along the way. What began as a simple idea that we sketched out for them, became a functional space that has truly become the heart of our home. Weβre already looking forward to working with CBS again as we continue renovations in the rest of the house.Posted on Google![]()

The CBS team did a big renovation in our house (extension, 2 new dakkapels, new shower and toilet) and we were really happy with their work! We came to them initially with the plans and the things we wanted to do, they give us an honest feedback with some ideas to improvement and we started working together. All along the way, we had a weekly meeting on site, talking about the issues, the next steps and the things needed from both ends to ensure that the progress remain the same. They were really professional and doubling down on the details, making sure that all of our needs are met. The pricing was honest and straight forward. The workers were kind and did a amazing beautiful work, better than what we could have imagine! Our project manager kept a whatsapp group with us, communicating and ensuring a smooth progress. I have no doubt that if I'll renovate a new house, they will be the company I choose.Posted on Google![]()

Posted on Google![]()

Weesp lies between Amsterdam and het Gooi, with the province of Utrecht directly to the south. That puts it on the north-western side of our working area. CBS Renovation has its office in Breukelen, which, like Weesp, lies on the river Vecht. From there we work across het Gooi and the part of the province of Utrecht that borders it. For every address in the area the method is the same: we visit, you receive an itemised quotation, and one person remains your contact until the handover.
Naming a figure in advance makes little sense, because houses differ too much. An extension to a recent house is different work from renovating an old building in the centre, and the choice of materials counts as well. CBS Renovation therefore visits first for a survey. You then receive a quotation with a price for each element, so you know where you stand before the work begins.
It varies per house. The size of the extension, where on the plot it goes and what the rules for the address allow decide whether a permit is needed. Since 2022 Weesp has been part of the municipality of Amsterdam, which is where an application goes. CBS Renovation checks this before the design is fixed. For Meentweg 62 in Bussum we drew up the drawings and structural calculations and applied for the omgevingsvergunning, as the Dutch permit is called.
Yes. With an old building the survey covers the structure, the woodwork, the installations and the insulation, as well as the rules that apply to the property. In Bussum we renovated a house from 1905: the wooden windows and doors in the front facade and the original woodwork were restored, while the roof, facade and crawl space were insulated and a heat pump was installed.
Yes, as a project of its own or within a larger remodel. We strip out the old bathroom, adapt the pipework and drainage, fit extract ventilation, tile the room and install the sanitary ware and furniture. The bathrooms and toilets at Meentweg 62 in Bussum were handed over turn-key. On Eikbosserweg in Hilversum two new bathrooms went in, one of them with electric underfloor heating.
Yes. Dormers, new tiles, a new rainwater system and roof insulation are best done in one go, so the roof only has to be opened once. In the 1905 house in Bussum the existing dormers were reinforced with extra beams and given new windows; the roof insulation used Kingspan Kooltherm K12, and the pitched roof received 140 mm of PIR.
Yes. We insulate the roof, facade and floor first, sort out the ventilation and only then choose the heating, such as a heat pump combined with underfloor heating. Meentweg 62 in Bussum started on energy label F, with a gas boiler and a geyser; the house is now all-electric, with solar panels and a charging point. A 1957 house on Neuweg in Hilversum now has a heat pump and ten solar panels.
We include elements like these in a larger project, such as a house renovation, an extension or a new bathroom. The work is then prepared in one go, floors, walls and stairs match in their finish, and you have a single schedule. If you have several plans for your house in Weesp, put them together in your request; after the survey we draw up one quotation covering all of them.
