Dormers, roof extensions and roof work
A dormer or a raised roof turns a loft into a full floor: we fit the dormer, insulate the roof structure and finish the space as a bedroom, a home office or a bathroom, with heating and sockets in place. On a tiled roof we replace the tiles and the rainwater system. On Talmalaan in Soest a dormer with a raised ridge produced a generous extra bedroom; at Meentweg 62 the roof was retiled and the downpipes renewed in zinc.
Bathrooms and kitchens
A bathroom or a kitchen is renewed inside the renovation: we strip it out, move pipework and electrics, fit ventilation, do the tiling and install the units. Tiling, plastering and fitting run under the same project management, so one element follows the next without you having to coordinate separate trades. In an older house we first check what the existing floor and the drainage can take.
Floors and underfloor heating
We lay parquet, laminate and tiled floors ourselves, with or without underfloor heating. In a pre-war house that usually starts with floor insulation and work in the crawl space, because those decide what underfloor heating will actually deliver. In two Laren houses from 1913 and 1914 we insulated the ground floor and laid underfloor heating with its controls. In a new extension the pipes go straight into the screed.

Installations and insulation
Heating, pipework, ventilation and electrics are part of the same contract, from the consumer unit through to a heat pump. Insulation of roof, floor and cavity walls is combined with the rest of the work; insulating without proper airflow can lead to damp, so the ventilation belongs in the same plan. At Meentweg 62 in Bussum the house runs on electricity alone since the renovation, with underfloor heating on every floor.
