Installations and insulation
Heating, pipework, ventilation and electrics belong to the same contract, from the consumer unit through to a heat pump. Insulation of roof, floor and cavity walls is scheduled for the moment when floors and walls are open anyway; done separately, the same work takes twice the preparation. Better insulation also asks for better airflow, or a damp problem simply moves. In a 1913 villa in Laren we insulated the roof and the external walls from the inside and fitted extract ventilation.
