More room comes from an extension or from the house itself. For Meentweg 62 in Bussum we drew up the architectural and construction drawings and the structural calculations, then delivered the two-storey extension turn-key. In another house on Meentweg, dating from 1914, the garage was taken into the living room: the dividing wall came out, the space was insulated and Velux roof windows went in. We link the heating and electrics of the new space to the installations already in the house.

Besides renovation, we build new. On a new-build project the shell, the building services and the finishing sit with one contractor, and the quotation still lists every element separately. Businesses can come to us to refurbish an office, a shop or other commercial premises. In a property transformation we give an existing building a new use and adapt its structure and services to suit. If a building stays open during the work, the planning allows for that.
Masonry is part of many renovations: the brickwork of an extension, a new opening in a wall, repointing and repairing old brickwork. Roof and window frames are part of the outside too. On Meentweg 62 in Bussum new tiles went on the roof, a zinc rainwater system replaced the old one, and every window frame and external door was renewed in wood. The windows of the Engweg house in Laren were kept instead: restored and painted inside and out.

Stairs and other woodwork are handled within the renovation. In the Engweg house in Laren the old woodwork was restored and repainted: ceiling beams, doors, cupboards, the staircase and the balustrade. Behind living-room panelling the original wooden sliding door came to light, and we restored it. Made-to-measure work belongs to the same trade: in the 1914 house on Meentweg in Bussum, a project carried out with a design studio, we made a built-in cupboard, kitchen benches with storage and shelving in the hall.
A new bathroom or kitchen is part of the renovation, with pipework, electrics, ventilation, tiling and fitting in one plan. Sometimes the first job is under the floor: in the kitchen on Engweg in Laren the floor joists were strengthened to carry a 150 kg cooker. Upstairs in the 1913 villa in Laren, the bathroom received a bath, a shower, a washbasin with two taps, a toilet and a laundry corner, and the shower room and toilets downstairs were renewed.
Making an old house efficient starts with the envelope. In Bussum, a house from 1905 had its pitched roof insulated with 140 mm PIR (Rd 6.3), its facade with PIR and moisture-resistant plasterboard and its crawl space with 60 mm PIR, and the windows received HR++ glazing. Heating comes from underfloor heating on two floors and a Daikin-Intergas heat pump of 7.4 kW, backed by solar panels. The energy label went from G to A+++. Electrics, pipework and ventilation come under the same contract.

Because the stairs are part of the project, their finish matches the floors, walls and doors.

In a 1914 house on Meentweg in Bussum the wall between the kitchen and the living room was taken out and a metal portal frame put in, which made the kitchen larger. Yes. A Bussum house from 1905 went up from label G to A+++, while the wooden windows and doors on the front facade and the original woodwork inside were restored. In the 1914 house on Engweg in Laren, the window sashes were made thicker to take HR++ glass, and the cavity walls and the floor were insulated. Which measures suit your house is something we look at during the survey.
Painting, a floor or tiling is carried out by CBS Renovation as part of a larger project: a renovation, an extension, a new bathroom or kitchen.
